DFG Photo Shoot

we had this photoshoot day in the office for the whole DFG - the new pictures will be used for the upcoming All-Hands Meeting this friday. It was a fun day for DFG as each team tries to out-do each other in terms of their poses, and of course, RMS/Artes did not disappoint.

First picture was supposed to be good - though the place was located on the stairs and it is physically imposible for the picturetaker to take the picture without the help of .... flight.



i like our second picture, because of the lighting - we took this inside the elevator (causing alarms because we took several shots without releasing the "open door" button)



the last one was my favorite - i personally think it is one of the top 3 amongst all teams (i think the team of ate Janet has one of the best team pictures). We were supposed to lay down on the ground forming circles with our heads but cannot achieve it with our numbers (and with the venue).

ok - i am not a big fan of web riddles, just because there are so many of them that it is hard to single out which amongst them are the best. I have come accross "The Room" before - it is a simple click-and-discover flash based game, but it had its own unique twist on it. You are basically trapped inside a room, and you have to get out - i know they have already created new versions of it. (google is your friend)

Anyways, i came by this unique web puzzle - and the good thing here is that you really need not to be a genuis - all you have to do is be smart. it is hard to explain - you just have to experience it yourself. (this is actually a good measuring stick of your patience :) )

s is for sandwich and more soccer

We recently held our year-ender townhall - and it was a blast. It was held at Hard Rock Makati - with chicco (tama ba spelling) and delamar as hosts, sandwich and sugarfree for the entertainment, overflowing food, what more can i ask for?

First of all - I am not a fan of chicco and delamar, i mean they are good hosts, but i just dont dig them - for the love of God, chicco - please come out of the closet (^_^). We have our own rendition of CIO Idol - where 9 brave CIOs try to outperform each other much to the delight of the crowd - and yes, we have to declare a winner. It was the same old format - 9 will be trimmed down to 3, then 5 judges (2 were DJs from 2 pop sattions - sorry, cant remember their names) picked the first ever CIO idol by the end of the program. We were debating how much did they shell-out for this event - we have Hard Rock exclusive practically the whole day, we have the ever so famous chicco and delamar as hosts, Sugarfree and Sandwich were there to provide some good old fun, and the food were great, and overflowing (and BOO for the no-free-beers), it can easily go as high as 800K i think.

Sandwich is a great band - let me give you a brief background, sandwich was formed about 6+ years ago after Eraserheads have disbanded. They did so well, that they were able to create 4 albums to date - 3 of which was with their former vocalists (Marc Abaya) who left them and created a new band. It was actually a blessing in disguise, as the remaining members stood out and created their 4th album (released just this year). Raymund Marasigan (former ehaeds) left the guitars and became the new vocalists then the rest was history. They won several awards including Album of the Year, and Band of the Year for their latest album - which were the top awards for this years MTV music awards. I never thought they will recover when marc left them - but i was proven wrong. Do yourself a favor and watch them live - you will know what I am talking about.



And just this weekend - we fought with the best team on our bracket and salvaged a 0-3 score, believe me - we did a great job (^_^)

its sucker time

It was a good saturday morning - the sun is shining, i was able to get enough sleep from my usual dota friday night. I was looking forward to a fun day at Ateneo for a lovely game of soccer - little did i know that the game is planning a totally different thing for me.

First of all, soccer is played with 11 man on the battlefield - anything less than that equals catastrophe. My brave soul marched towards katipunan thinking that i will have a good day ahead of me - come game time, only 10 showed up. The game moves along as expected - 15 minutes later, we are all exhausted, tired, stroked, dislocated and one by one we dropped like flies. I was able to get my hands to be the goalie of my team - after two of them gave up. There was no muscle in my body that was not feeling any kind of pain - from my eyes, to my ankles (thanks to myself who angrily kicked the flooring instead of the ball +_+)

I am now looking forward to next gameday - i have my alaxan ready :)

first day high

It was a busy week for me here in the office and i hop eit is not an indication of what my new fiscal year will be like - changes, action plans have been updated for the nth time just to give way on my team members preferences. I cant blame them - my other application demands full attention from the moment you stepped int he office until the very moment you leave. We practically have to scramble to find a replacement - someone who is willing to do "support" type of work 24x7.

I was always scouring the world wide web for photography forums - one of my favorite is this guy named edwin, he oftentimes show his work and most of the time the forum members are moved, if not captivated. Here is a link to some of his works - i like his pictures of Filipino faces, especially in the province.

The newly promotes and salary increases for this fiscal year were already announced - and everyone just seems to be happy - and yes, that includes me ;)
